Twelve Months Old!
Adele! She is officially a one year old tomorrow! I can't believe it! It some ways it seems like this past year has creeped by and in other ways it all seems like a blur. I guess that's sleep deprivation for you! She is the sweetest and the smartest little thing and I can't imagine our life without her. Thank goodness we had her when we did because it was the perfect timing with Esther's personality for her to fit right in. (Read more about her very early beginnings right here)
^^^Those rolls, that belly, her scruffy hair, her long dark eyelashes, I can't get enough of her cuteness!
She is officially a little walker as of a couple days ago. She took her first steps at 10.5 months but still preferred crawling until a few days ago when something clicked and she's been walking all over the place. Esther keeps saying "She's big now!" and "She's grown up now!".
Adele has reached the imitation stage and it is the cutest thing. She holds up play phones to her ear to "talk", she will try to comb her hair or brush her teeth when she gets a hold of those items, and whenever we are laughing or Esther is screaming she joins right in.
She is so affectionate and I love it ha. She will give kisses to Leland, Esther and me on command and hugs too. When Leland leaves for work he gives all three of us a kiss and when it is her turn she is puckered up and ready. ðŸ˜
She has been quite the needy little thing these past few weeks, I'm not sure why. Maybe teething or separation anxiety but she is usually whiney in the afternoons unless I'm holding her. She's been spending a lot of time in the carrier on my back because lugging around her 25 lbs ain't easy. And heaven forbid I hold Esther and not her because she gets sooooo jealous. Good thing she has a solid claim on her position as baby of the family, for now.
She loves to eat, both nursing and solid foods. She loves all foods but her very favorite things are still fruits. I think along with Leland's looks she inherited his sweet tooth too. She still nurses 4-5 times a day and usually only one dream feed at night, (Holla for finally sleeping through the night!) She takes two naps a day but they have been so short lately which attributes to her fussiness,
She still does zero baby signs despite my half-hearted attempts to teach her some, but she can say a few words. All-done, mama, dada, bye, yeah and woah. She recently learned how to wave bye too.
She is shorter than Esther was at this age and wears 12-18 month clothes. She wears size 5 or 6 diapers but is mostly in cloth now. I will update this post with her official weight and height after her 12 month appointment.
Adele is growing up to be a smart and sassy little girl. I can't wait to celebrate her tomorrow!
