Esther's First Hike

Since I have been trying to lose the rest of the baby weight, Leland and I have been trying to work out 3 times a week each. We usually switch off running every evening, but since Tuesday was Leland's day off we decided to go for a hike. I researched hikes and we had planned to go on one that was two miles round trip, but we somehow ended up doing one that was 4 miles round trip.

He loves having his picture taken.

The trail seemed forever long, but finally we made it to the waterfalls. There were some steep and rocky parts, so it's a good thing Leland was carrying Esther. I may have nearly fell quite a few times.

On the way back Esther started to get fussy and I was speed walking my heart out trying to get back to the car as fast as possible, lest I end up feeding her on a log in the wilderness. I may have slightly overreacted, but at least I got a good workout in.

We made it safely back to the car where I fed her. Then we went and got wendy's to reward ourselves for such a long workout.

And here are a few unrelated pictures:

Mother's Day

I know it's pretty cliche to be blogging about mother's day, but oh well. For mothers day weekend we drove down south to my parents house.

Don't let that sleeping face fool you. She was awake and angry for most of the drive.

Esther loves her auntie. And the rest of her family. :)

My first mother's day was a good day. Leland gave me the cutest card, from him and Esther. We also skyped with Bennett and he got to "see" Esther for the first time. It wasn't very good quality but it was fun. Crazy to think Esther will be almost 2 by the time he gets back.

2 Month Pictures

In case you haven't gotten enough of pictures of Esther, here are some more. She is smiling so much now, these pictures were really fun to take. At two months Esther:
-smiles all the time!
- still isn't rolling, but that's fine by me
-wears size 2 diapers, but mostly wears cloth diapers
-weighs 12 lbs 6oz (79th percentile)
-is 23.8 inches long (96th percentile)
-her head is 15.5 inches (89th percentile)
-still loves baths
-will sleep 8+ hours at night (she has only done it 3 times though), usually she sleeps 6 or so hours, then 3 more hours.
-is a very happy baby

And here are a few outtakes, I just love her faces.

Blessing Day + 2 Months

I can't believe our baby is already 2 months. It's kinda sad that she isn't a newborn anymore. But then again I do love getting more sleep and how easy breastfeeding is now. She has really turned into the greatest baby ever. Her first few days of life had me pretty worried that she would be a fussy baby, but she was just hungry.

She is pretty much the best sleeper ever. I try to have her on a schedule of nursing, then awake/play time for an hour or so, then sleep, then repeat. To get her to sleep all we have to do is give her the binky, rock her for about 5-10 minutes. then swaddle her and lay her down. She is still usually awake when we lay her down. We just put on the white noise and she falls asleep within about 5 minutes, no crying. It is great. She usually feeds once a night, but she has slept 8 hours through the night a few times. Sadly, I didn't. I kept waking up wondering what was going on and making sure she was still breathing. But in the future hopefully I'll get to sleep too.

Her blessing day was great. A lot of family came and they all loved seeing Esther. Leland gave her a great blessing. We are so blessed to have such a sweet little girl.
