Bridal Veil Falls

Today we went with Leland's brothers to bridal veil falls. It is a really easy "hike" and so pretty too.

Esther might be getting a little too big for the carrier haha.

Esther could not be contained in the carrier for long. She wanted to be down eating collecting rocks and attempting to get in the water.

I opted to stay down below and let Esther explore while the boys hiked all the way up.

I'm so glad we live close to such beautiful places :)

Outside

Now that the weather is warming up, I have been trying to go outside more. Esther LOVES going outside. I try to go on a jog with her in the running stroller at least twice a week and while she isn't a huge fan of sitting in the stroller, she does love when I stop by the parks to let her play.

Recently she has become obsessed with "collecting" things, usually either pine cones, rocks or sticks. And she will attempt to find and carry as many as she can, It is so funny to see her little personality.

Outside in our little "yard" she loves to climb up on this little table and usually start shouting haha. She is also pretty entertained with the little slides.

Last Sunday she was a little cranky after her nap so we took her outside to cheer her up, it always works!

Esther @ 13 Months

I wasn't planning on doing more monthly updates for Esther after she turned one, but she's just been doing so much cute stuff lately I have to write it all down so I can remember. The only way I can cope with her growing up so fast is to record everything so I can have it forever :)

Esther is a true little toddler now. She is learning so many things so quickly. She can say 4 words: Mama, Dada, kitty and duck-duck. I have heard her say each of these words multiple times, but she is a such a stubborn little girl, she only says them when she feels like it. Same goes for waving and doing any of her signs.

She is so into imitating lately, it is adorable. She uses her comb or brush to try and brush her hair, she tries to brush her teeth and eat with a spoon. And she likes to carry around "purses" or try to carry the diaper bag on her shoulder. She can also throw her diapers in the garbage, just like she's seen us do many times. She isn't into the "do everything myself" phase yet and I'm grateful for that, she just likes to copy whatever we do.

She still takes two naps a day, usually and has been much better with her sleep. She sleeps 12+ hours a night, and goes without waking up about half the time. She really loves to sleep in and she will sleep in til 9 and sometimes 10 if she's had a rough night. It's great for me! Until I  pay for it later when she refuses to nap.

She is pretty good at walking now, and it is still so surprising to me to have this tiny person walking around our house. She loves to walk and explore new places. Anytime we are out she wiggles to get down and walk around. She has no fear of strangers and will usually go up to people and cling on their legs haha. Having a little toddler is so fun :)

Easter 2015

This Easter lined up with General Conference. On Easter morning we set up a little mini Easter egg hunt for Esther in our living room. She loved it! I only got videos of it, not pictures :/ But Esther really got the hang of egg hunting. We also gave her chalk and peeps in her Easter basket. I figured we would keep things simple while she is still easily pleased :). She was not a fan of the peeps but she does like playing with (and eating) the chalk. She also tried chocolate for the first time and she is a huge fan.

Later in the day we drove up to Leland's sister's house and watched conference with them. It was fun, Esther loves playing with her cousins and she had a great time hunting for eggs. It was so cute to see her walking around filling up her little bucket. Once she figured out there was candy inside she kept trying to open the eggs and eat the candy, wrapper and all.

We had a great Easter/Conference. I am so grateful for my family and the gospel in my life. I look forward to creating more traditions with Esther and our other kids as they get older. Holidays are so much funner when you have kids!

A Trip to the Zoo

Yesterday Adam and Rickelle came up for the weekend so we went to the Hogle Zoo. We went last summer on a really hot day and all the animals were asleep. This time the animals were much more active. Esther loved seeing the animals too. She would point at them and usually say "oooooo". All of our favorite was the baby orangutan. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen, but there were so many people crowded around it was hard to get a decent picture.

Esther was so afraid of this gorilla statue, she thought it was real lol.

Picture Overload

I am trying to catch up on the blog, I haven't been posting much because I got a new phone, which means I am taking more pictures with that instead of my normal camera. So here are the pictures of what we've been doing for the past couple weeks.

I love her sleeping

So proud of herself for climbing up here!

Last Sunday she wore her Easter dress to church, she was not happy that I was trying to make her hold still.

She's been taking lots of car naps as we've been driving around to see family.

This girl loves being outside

I love how she points all the time now, and that this picture perfectly captures her little toddle.

Selfies with Mama

I had to capture her falling asleep in church, it may just have been the last time it ever happens!

Spring Blooms

We saw the hospital helicopter land while on our walk, Esther was very scared haha
