Two Months

As of Monday Adele is two months old! At her appointment she weighed 13lbs 7oz (99th %) and was 23.5 inches long (95th %). She is our big girl! I can't believe she's gained 5 pounds since she's been born. But I shouldn't really be surprised because this girl loves her milk. She wears size 2 diapers (barely). I think she could fit in size 3 already but we bought a big box of size 2 so we're trying to make them fit until they are gone. She wears 3-6 month clothes. Most of her 0-3 months are too small. Some of the 6 month clothes are a little big but a lot of them fit. It's just crazy how big she is. People always assume she's 3-4 months old because of how big she is. The Dr said I must be feeding her pure cream and I'm pretty sure she's right lol.

Adele is a very happy baby as long as she's not tired or hungry. She doesn't like to be left alone where she can't see anyone. Especially when she's in her car seat in the car.

She has a little bit of reflux anytime she's flat on her back. So during the day she still sleeps in her swing or on the go.( Also our swing just broke! We've been trying to survive without but I think we may need to just buy a new one so she'll nap well again.)
She also sleeps great propped up on the boppy but since that's not exactly safe I only do that when I'm in the same room as her and can keep an eye on her. But I'm pretty sure she would sleep through the night if I allowed her to sleep on the boppy. During the night she starts off in the bassinet (which is also propped at an angle) and then comes into our bed for nursing. Some nights she does great and goes for 4-6 hour stretches and other nights it's every 2 hours or less.

Around 5 weeks Adele first started smiling. Now she smiles all the time. She loves being talked to by anyone and will give big smiles when you talk to her. She recognizes my face now and smiles when she sees me. It is adorable and makes all those night wakings worth it!

She is really just a happy and calm baby. I'm so glad I got two happy babies so far. My theory is that chubby baby = happy baby so hopefully they will all be relatively easy. She was just so cute and smiley for these pictures that I had to take a million. We sure love you baby Adele!

Easter Week

For Easter week I had big plans to do a little lesson and activity each day of the week that corrosponded to what Jesus did on that day during the last week of his life. We were not good at doing this. Especially because Esther goes to bed early it was always a rush to get things together after dinner. Anyways we tried and maybe we'll do better next year.

On Monday we made palm leaves and sang the Primary song "Easter Hosanna". Esther loved it so much. She was waving the leaves all night lol. Also Loki photobombs pretty much every picture I try to take.

On Wednesday we dyed Easter eggs. Esther also loved this activity. Too bad no one else in the family would eat the hard boiled eggs except for me.

On Saturday I woke up sick. Leland had the flu a couple of weeks before and gave it to me. So we didn't really do very much. I set out Esther's Easter basket and we did a little egg hunt in our living room. It was pretty lame but Esther doesn't know any different haha.

On Sunday I was feeling well enough to go to church. I was so excited for Esther and Adele to wear their Easter dresses. I tried very hard to get a good picture of them without very much success. Even though it was low key we had a good day. Happy Easter!

A Day in the Life (#4)

Every 6 months or so I like to write down what we do all day. These posts are probably boring to everyone but I love looking back and seeing what we did on a normal day. This day was a little abnormal since I went to the caucus and Leland did bedtime by himself,  but that does happen once a week or so. Usually when I need a little break ;)

I did a day in the life post when Esther was the same age Adele is now. You can read it here. It's so crazy how different life is with two kids. With Adele I don't time her feedings like I did with Esther, and I barely even wake up to feed her at night. So I left those things out. I also would go somewhere almost everyday when Esther was a baby. Now it's usually not worth the hassle. Also workouts are a long ways from happening for me lol. Anyways, here is our day from Tuesday March 22nd 2016.

Esther is 2 years old and Adele is 7 weeks old.

5 something am: Esther comes to our room. Leland gives her milk and gets her back to sleep. I go back to sleep.

6:00am: Adele wakes up. I feed her but she isn't going back. I burp her, change her and swaddle her.

7:30am: Adele finally falls back to sleep. Sometime later Leland comes in for prayers before he leaves to work. I eventually fall back to sleep.

8:40am: Esther comes into our room and is awake for good. I put on Little Einsteins for her while I start writing this and eat breakfast.

9:15am: The show is over. Give Esther her breakfast. Banana oatmeal and cheese.

9:30am: Adele is starting to wake up so we finish breakfast and get Esther dressed for the day.

9:40: Adele is awake, I change her diaper and clothes and nurse her while Esther plays with her toys and the saran wrap.

Esther comes over asking for "HALP" many times.

10:00am: Adele is full and I decide to pump some for the freezer stash. I get 4oz.

My view while pumping:

10:15am: I make the bed and put Adele on it for tummy time while I get dressed. Esther plays with Loki.

10:16am: Discover Adele has a huge blowout. Change her diaper and clothes, swaddle her and put her in the swing for nap. She is screaming so I hurry and finish getting dressed then rock her. Esther is playing in the bathroom...

10:45am: Adele is asleep, put her in the car seat and get Esther ready to leave for story time at the library.

11:00-12:00 Storytime

Getting both girls out to car and buckled in = not an easy task. Also it was randomly snowing this day.

12:05pm: Get home, feed Adele. Leland gets home a few minutes later for lunch. He gets Esther lunch.

12:25pm: Adele is finished nursing so I swaddle her and put her in the swing to nap. I join Leland and Esther eating lunch.

12:50pm: Leland heads back to work. I rock and sing to Esther to get her down for nap.

1:11pm: Both babies are asleep. I check my phone, read my scriptures and then lay on the couch to nap too.

2:20pm: Esther is awake so I wake up too. We read books together. Then I look up info about the caucus tonight.

2:55pm: I start laundry and cleaning while Esther plays with her toys. Adele is still asleep.

Esther plays with her elephants and wants me to take a picture of them.

3:15pm: Esther colors while I put potatoes in the oven for dinner.

3:25pm Adele wakes up. I change her, then get Esther a snack and put on Little Bear while I feed Adele.

4:00pm: Little bear is over. I put Adele on the bed for tummy time. Esther and I sing songs to keep her happy.

4:15pm: I decide to make cookies with E. I put Adele in the ergo. Adele goes right to sleep.

5:05pm: Leland comes home and takes Esther outside to play while I finish the cookies.

Waiting for Dada:

5:40pm: I start to nurse A. Leland and E come back in. Esther is very wet so he puts her in the bath.

6:00pm: We eat dinner.

6:30pm: I feed Adele the other side while Leland puts the food away.

6:45pm: I take Adele and go to the caucus. Leland couldn't register to vote so he stays home with Esther.

7:30pm: I get home just in time to say prayers with Esther, then I rock and sing to her. I lay her in her bed and she stays without crying :)

8:00pm: I take a bath and bring Adele in with me. I wash her and hand her off to Leland to get her ready for bed.

8:40pm: I get out of the bath and get ready for bed. Adele is asleep. We read and relax a little then go to bed ourselves around 10pm.

*Sorry if this post is full of typos. I wrote it mostly from my phone.

Also I just found my last day in the life post here. Esther was so tiny and such a baby!
