Birdie and Fawn

For a few months now we've been telling Esther she can get a kitty for her birthday. She loved our cat Loki and would tell us how much she missed him daily. When we first started looking at cats are was adamant we get one that's all black and name it Loki. As we started looking at cats she opened up to other possibilities luckily.

Last week Esther had an appointment at the Children's hospital to checkup on her VUR. Some of the tests are very invasive and painful and I felt so bad that I told her we could go look at cats after. We have looked quite a few times lately but never gotten one because there wasn't much selection and it wasn't her birthday yet.

Anyways after going to two shelters we found "the perfect ones" as Esther said. They came as a pair (we did not plan on getting two 😬) as a mom and kitten. As you can see, Esther has been over the moon excited about them. She has been so good taking care of them and gets their food and water by herself every morning. She also "helps" Leland clean their litter every night.

The day we got them Esther wore her cat shirt and cat ears everywhere we went.

I helped Esther write in her little journal about the cats. She and Adele have been learning a lot about how to be nice to them and that we can't control them ha. Really though it has been sweet to see them loving each other. Leland loves the cats too even if he pretends he doesn't. ;)

On the day we got the cats Adele was too excited to nap. She wore her cat shirt for the occasion as well.
