Photos and Tidbits

Not much has been going on lately. We've just kind of been relaxing after our trip. It is starting to warm up finally so we've been getting outside some. We've also had lots of Dr's appointments lately. Here are some of the pictures I've taken over the past couple of weeks. \

Adele accompanying me to my postpartum checkup today. When did she get so huge?!

I already posted about this over on Instagram, but Esther loves her Dumbos so much lately. Kylee got them for her a couple months back when her Dumbo obsession first began. It is a little stuffed Dumbo and Mrs. Jumbo. Esther calls them Mama and Baby and has them with her all the time, including bringing them to the park and to bed with her. She is always saying "Mama" and I think she is talking to me, but really she is talking to Mrs. Jumbo. It can be confusing haha

Last week I took Esther to the dentist for a checkup. It was pretty much a disaster. Adele was screaming to be fed and I was trying to hold down a screaming Esther so they could get xrays. They gave up on the xrays and I fed Adele. Then the dentist came in and I had to hold Esther down again while she screamed and tried to get away. Esther kept spitting in his face and biting so the exam was quickly given up on. I was pretty embarrassed but they have to be used to that kind of thing at a pediatric dentist right? Right? On the forms you fill out they ask you "How do you think your child will react to the dentist?" Next time I will be sure to write "Like a rabid animal, complete with biting".

Also after that whole ordeal the dentist left the room and without prompting Esther smiles and waves and says "Bye-bye" the Dentist didn't say it back and she kept yelling it over and over until he did. Like you were just biting that guy 2 minutes ago and now he's your best friend. Crazy girl.

Family nap on Saturday (Esther was in her own bed asleep). Adele slept a surprisingly long time with Loki next to her :)

We delved into potty training for a few days. Although Esther did have some success, I don't think she's quite ready yet. We'll try again in a few months.

Esther is getting more into books lately. She will sit still for 10-20 minutes while we read book after book, or sometimes one really long book. If she sees something she likes in the book she will say grab at the picture and say "get it, get it" because she wants to pull whatever it is out of the book. Her little imagination is so cute :)

Adele is a such a smiley girl lately :)

Adele on St. Patrick's Day. The only one in the family to wear green.

 I just love those cheeks!

  1. Laughing out loud about the rabid animal. That is too funny. We had to get Jessi sedated for any dental things until she was about 6.
