Adele 4.75

Adele has always been mature for her age (in some ways) but it has been fun to see her turn the corner from toddler to little girl. She has a lot of passions and interests that she is very passionate about. She loves all things girly and almost always wears dresses. She is not quite as stubborn as some of my other children so she can be coaxed into wearing pants at times. I will need to invest in a lot of tights because she wants to wear dresses all winter and leggings aren't fashionable enough for her anymore ha.

One of Adele's passions is all things farms. She was very happy to go to Wheeler Farm and see the cows up close and pet them. Hopefully we can get her there at milking time one of these times so she can milk them. She has a little farm animal set and barn that she treasures, as well as two toy riding/rocking horses. She frequently asks when we are moving to a farm and now has just started talking as if it were a sure thing that we are moving to a farm someday ha. I wouldn't be opposed.

After explaining many times that we can't have horses or cows in our backyard, she found out that we can have chickens in our backyard. Well, now she is convinced we are getting chickens this spring. I tried to let her down gently and say maybe we can get chickens when she is 6 but not when she is 5 because of the baby coming this spring. Well she has that all figured out too "You'll take care of the baby, I'll take care of the chickens and Esther will take care of Birdy so she doesn't eat the chickens." Ha she is pretty convincing. I might just give in. :)

Going along with farms, her other passion is Laura Ingalls and all things Little House on the Prairie. I was obsessed myself with Little House on the Prairie as a child so I'm happy to share this love with her. Below is a picture of her "writing pioneer books just like Laura".

Adele is still very sweet and sensitive and crazy at times. She loves all her siblings and is always seeking them out to play.

After a few years of not liking the outdoors, Adele fully embraces outside now. She calls herself  "the nature child" and says she loves nature.

Although she is a homebody, Adele is very friendly and will talk to anyone. She befriends people where ever we go, and loves to have the attention of adults who will listen to her talk.

Tea parties is another one of her passions.

Adele is doing really well with school. She is dying to learn to read, but would rather play with the boys than learn her letters most the time. She is a fast learning though and I think she'll pick up reading easily in Kindergarten.

For a few months Adele had been asking for bangs. Bangs are not my favorite, especially since I would have to be the one trimming them, but she was adamant so I cut a few inches off her ends and gave her bangs so she could look just like Laura. She was thrilled and still loves her bangs.

Adele really loves Baby Boy. She says "He can't leave, he is my favorite person in the family!" She feels things very deeply and I know she will take it very hard if he leaves. They have a special relationship and I hope we can keep that intact no matter what happens with him.

Adele is such a sweetheart. She loves Jesus and is always telling me about angels and her philosophies about heaven, I love to hear them. She loves the scriptures and is so motivated to read because she wants to be able to "really read" her Book of Mormon. She is a joy and we are so grateful to have her in the family.
