2019 Hikes-Birch Creek Canyon Trail

For Leland's work challenge there are a list of hikes to choose from, or you can submit your own. Usually we choose from the list, but since most of those are in SLC and we wanted to stay close to home we chose this trail in Ogden to do. It was really pretty and fun trail. It is very secluded and we barely saw any other people (usually all the trails in SLC are packed, especially on a Saturday). Let me just say, when I first married Leland I never would have thought he'd want to do a long hike with four kids, including two babies strapped to him. :) But he is all for doing whatever it takes to complete this hiking challenge. The carrier Leland is wearing is called the TwinGo and we borrowed it from our local babywearing club.

Esther loved this hike and wanted to keep going and going. There were a lot of boulders to climb over and she loved the adventure of that. Adele rode on my back most of the time. At one point me and Adele stayed behind while Esther and Leland kept going. Adele and I passed the time by taking selfies.

The trail runs right next to a loud stream and the sound of it made Adele, Israel and Baby Girl all fall asleep in their carriers, which usually never happens. Afterward we got ice cream again, which is becoming a tradition. :)
