4th of July

This 4th of July was so fun! Esther had been looking forward to it for many days, and she even remembered last 4th of July so she kinda knew whatbto expect. We woke up bright and early and went to a nearby parade. The parade itself was pretty lame, but the girls got lots of candy and loved it so I guess that's what matters ha.

After thr paradr we came home for a long rest. We told Esther that if she wanted to stay up late for fireworks then she had to take a nap. 1 hour and a 30 minute car ride later and she was finally asleep. For dinner that night we went to my Aunt Kris's house for dinner. The girls loved playing there and the food was delicious. We had a great time!

Afterwards we had planned to put Adele to bed and have Leland stay home with her while I took Esther to watch the fireworks. Of course at the last minute Leland decided he wanted to go too. So we all went. We went to the park near our house which was great because there was no one else there and we could see fireworks all around. The glasses we are wearing are supposed to make the fireworks look 3D.

The girls were so sweet there, so excited and playing so nicely together. It was great to relish in the peaceful happy memories. :) Of course it didn't last long because the sprinklers came on on us, then Esther threw a huge tantrum all the way home and didn't fall asleep until almost midnight. Adele woke up in the night and has now come down with a virus today. We are in full recovery mode now.

Doing fun things with kids is hard, and it is so much work for the parents that I always tell myself it will just be easier to stay home next time.  But then the next time comes around and it doesn't seem so daunting, and afterwards all I remember are the happy times anyways. It is hard work to take them places, and we always pay for it for at least two days when they stay up late, but I love making memories with them and I hope they remember these moments and traditions we have.
