Eleven Months with Israel

Israel turned eleven months old on April 11th. This has been a very rough month, probably the hardest so far, but we are finally coming through all the sickness and I think he is maybe, hopefully on the mend. He has still been happy and smiling through it all though.

Israel now has six teeth, with more on their way. He can crawl all over the place and pulls to standing. He can't quite take steps or cruise very much yet. He regressed a bit with his eating solid foods while he was sick and mostly just nursed. These past few days he has taken to eating a lot of table foods again.

Israel takes 2 naps a day, and usually sleeps from 7pm-7:30am at night, with many wake ups. During the worst of his sickness he was up all night from earaches and teething pain, but on a good night he will wake up just once and give me a 6 hour stretch. He is rocked to sleep every time and by now I've learned that that's just the easiest way for us to do it. He takes a binky when he sleeps too.

Since being sick he lost some weight. He still weighs around 25-26 pounds, the same he did when he was 9 months old. He is growing taller though and starting to outgrow his 24 month onesies. Since he is thinning out some of his 18 month pants have started fitting again. He is always on the move and so active, just like Esther was as a baby, so I think his chubby days are over forever. 😢

We call him our little goblin because he is constantly getting into everything. If we are outside he finds the mud and is covered in 5 minutes flat. Inside he goes straight for the bathroom and playing in the toilet or dives into the (empty) bathtub so we have to constantly remind the girls to keep the door closed. I have a feeling his naughty antics are just getting started.

Israel can say two words so far, Dada and Cat. He has yet to say Mama, but I guess it's okay because he is a big Mama's boy so I know he loves me best. He is a little sweetheart and gives everyone the best kisses. He loves to laugh and play peek a boo. He loves being around people and is happiest outside. We are excited to celebrate his birthday next month. Love you Israel boy!
