Wild+Free Camping Trip

At the beginning of the year I signed up and paid for us to go on a camping trip with our local Wild + Free homeschool group at the end of August. Well as summer came to an end and we had already done several camping trips, and Moses slept terribly at all of them, I started to reconsider and had almost made up my mind not to go. Well we started falling behing on our 1000 hours goal, and it was very close to home, we decided to just go for it and we went for the last two days and nights.

It ended up being so much fun! It was out of the comfort zone of Leland and I to camp for 72 hours with a bunch of strangers we hadn't really ever met before, but it ended up being so good. The kids had an amazing time with all the other kids there, riding bikes around the campground and tubing down the river. I made friends with the other moms and we really had a fun time. I was reminded how important it is to have a community and how much easier parenting is when there are so many other kids and moms so close by. Moses still slept terribly and there was a train that kept coming right next to the campground through all hours of the night, so no one got any sleep pretty much, but still we hardly remember that now and only remember what fun it all was.
