10 Months Old
This past month has gone by so fast! Yesterday someone asked me how old she was and I almost said 8 months haha. Her little personality is starting to show through a lot more. She can be a stubborn little girl when she doesn't get her way, but we love her anyways :). She is still pretty happy as long as she is well rested and fed.
This past month we did a lot of traveling for the holidays, and right around Christmas she got her two front bottom teeth, finally! Between the teething and sleeping in strange cribs, her sleep habits took a turn for the worse. We've had to resort to laying with her in our bed to fall asleep, then transferring her to the crib once she's in a deep sleep. But now that things have settled down we are trying to work our way back into a normal schedule with her falling asleep on her own.
She has definitely started showing signs of separation anxiety this past month, she has become a big mama's girl, which I don't mind, except when it's 3am and she only wants me haha. But along with that she has become more cuddly, and has been falling asleep on me which hasn't happened in like 6 months.
She is still crawling like a pro and pulling up all over. She has starting cruising around furniture more, but still prefers crawling everywhere since it's faster. She wears size 12 and 18 month clothes now, and size 4 diapers still. At her 9 month appointment she was 20 pounds 5 oz (80th %) and 29 inches long (94th %). So she is our tall little girl. Leland says he wants her to play basketball or volleyball since she will probably be tall.
She has started eating a lot more table food, and has mastered her pincer grasp. She has started eating bigger things, like graham crackers, now that she has teeth. Her favorite foods are yogurt bites, bananas, pears, and apples. She really loves any fruits. She eats 3 meals a day and usually 3/4th of a jar of baby food in one meal. She will eat pureed vegetables but she isn't a big fan. She does love eating steamed vegetables that she can pick up herself though. She is still nursing 4-6 times a day and 1-2 times at night. She is a lot better about eating in public too, which I never thought would happen, so that makes things much easier.
At 10 months she likes:
-going outside
-my family's cats
-walking while holding our hands
-clapping
-baths
-reading books
-being held
-pulling hair
At 10 months she doesn't like:
-being buckled in her highchair or carseat
-getting her diaper changed
-when Mama is too busy to hold her
-people touching her hands or belly (she will push their hands away haha)

She still hasn't said her first word yet, but she is constantly babbling so I'm sure it will be soon. She has said "mama" a few times in her babbling but I don't think she is saying it to mean anything yet. She does understand a few words like "no-no" and "milky" and "ni-night", she will also crawl to me when I tell her "Esther come to Mama" which is the cutest thing ever.
her little sassy face haha |
I can't believe how much she has changed in the past ten months. Only 2 months until she is one! It's flown by but we sure love our little Esther more and more each month. :)
